The children's author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The comedian

Prolific children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A representative for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was made after an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour involving women.

The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, encompassing a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
